ĐBP - The cultural sector of Điện Biên traces its origin to the Lai Châu provincial Information and Culture Department, founded on August 22, 1963. Over sixty-two years, through numerous changes in structure and name, from the Information Department to the Department of Culture and Information, and now to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the sector has remained steadfast in its mission of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic communities in service of the nation’s construction and defense.

ĐBP - Home to 19 ethnic groups, including 18 ethnic minorities with distinctive traditions ranging from customs, rituals, and attire to housing architecture, Điện Biên possesses a rich cultural heritage.

ĐBP - Located at an altitude of 1,260m above sea level, the Pú Vạp relic site lies about 10km west of the center of Mường Lay ward, Điện Biên province. Although known for its year-round cool climate, picturesque scenery, and especially its rich historical and cultural values, in recent years Pú Vạp has seemed to “fall asleep” in the forest, little known to visitors.

ĐBP - In Điện Biên province, each of 19 ethnic minority groups contributes to a vibrant cultural mosaic in Điện Biên province. Amid the current of integration, traditional values are cherished and passed down through generations, embodied in many concrete actions.

ĐBP - The 2025 Northwestern Essence - Điện Biên Festival will take place over three days (September 19-21, 2025). This regional event aims to strengthen tourism cooperation between the extended Northwestern provinces and Hồ Chí Minh City, while also tapping into the tourism potential and advantages of the localities.

ĐBP - On the morning of August 16, nearly 20,000 officials, civil servants, public employees, armed forces personnel, youth union members, students, and local residents in Điện Biên province took part in the walking program “Step forward with Vietnam,” in response to the message “One Billion Steps into a New Era.”

ĐBP - Nestled at the foot of a mountain facing the majestic Đà River, Huổi Lóng is a highland hamlet in Tủa Thàng commune, Điện Biên province, known for its breathtaking natural scenery and rich cultural heritage of the Dao ethnic group. For travelers who enjoy exploration and cultural immersion, Huổi Lóng is a must-visit destination on any journey through the Northwestern region.

ĐBP - In celebration of the 76th anniversary of the traditional day of the Điện Biên provincial Armed Forces (July 12, 1949 - 2025), all officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces are actively competing to achieve outstanding results in fulfilling local defense and military duties, aiming to build a comprehensive and solid defensive area.

ĐBP - Football is a sport with strong appeal, connecting communities and igniting dreams in many young people and teenagers. However, in our province, there is a severe shortage of standard football training grounds. This is one of the factors hindering the development of grassroots sports in local areas across the province.

ĐBP - In the context of transitioning toward a green and sustainable economic model, agricultural and rural tourism is becoming a promising trend that offers diverse and long-term benefits.

ĐBP - Beyond its beautiful natural scenery, Tủa Chùa is a land of cultural convergence, where ethnic communities like the Mông, Thái, Dao, Hoa, Khơ Mú, and Phù Lá each contribute their unique cultural identities to weave a vibrant, colorful tapestry for this rocky plateau in the northeastern part of the province.

ĐBP - Each brick laid is more than just a construction material, it carries the trust and consensus of the people. The journey to complete the network of neighborhood cultural houses in Mường Ảng district, Điện Biên province reflects a close-knit process between state policy and the spirit of communal solidarity, building a strong cultural foundation and shaping a modern, civilized urban image.

ĐBP - The first Pickleball Family Tournament in Điện Biên province for 2025 concluded successfully in the joyful atmosphere of the Vietnam’s Family Day (June 28). This was not just a warm sports event where family bonds were nurtured and beautiful memories created, but also a tournament that strongly spread the message about the role of sports in building happy and sustainable family homes.

ĐBP - After four days of competition, on June 22, final matches and the award ceremony of the First Family Pickleball Tournament in Điện Biên province were held at the provincial Stadium’s Training Hall.
